TMSPP - The Mobile Single Parents Project

Initially my target audience were single mothers, but after re-evaluating my project services. I felt uneasy and I did not want to retain my services from single fathers as being a single parent doesn't become any easier depending upon your gender. Hence the fact that all our services are offered to single parents. Our community project reaches several London boroughs.

I aim to focus upon the following groups through means of our outreach/ mentor services: 1I disadvantage groups i.e. lone parents and disabled people, BMEs, young beneficiaries (under 25’s),  disadvantaged backgrounds. My community project will work towards the development of immense increased levels of community members’ involvement. Participants and it will improve their over all: character, job eligibility, and educational goals, interpersonal skills which will reduce the high level of unemployment and project an elite level of success within ethnic minority families within today’s society.

This community project aims to increase the representation of single parents within today's society as an independent mother of two, I feel that BOTH male and female parents ought to have the mind set to achieve, elevate and succeed as a single parent or in a relationship. By merely centralising information by offering assistance, support, advice, raising your self esteem, confidence and help by acting as a voice for single parents who what their views to be heard. I aim to raise the level of success, respect, direction, motivation within single parent families by passing on my acquired skills and experience both academic, social etc.

At university I learned that most graduates come from single parent families who struggle (not all single parent families struggle) and I found this fascinating.

I feel that most single parents are generalized and few actually identify with just how much harder single parents have to work in order to achieve the simple things in life let alone the extras!
